This policy explains what information qrcodescan.in (“we”, “the site”) handles when you use the QR code scanner and QR code generators.

QR codes you scan or create

QR codes are decoded and created entirely in your browser, on your device. Your camera feed, the images you choose, the content of scanned QR codes and anything you type into a generator (including UPI IDs and Wi-Fi passwords) are not uploaded to us or to anyone else.

Camera access

The scanner asks for camera permission only to read QR codes. The video is processed on your device and is never recorded or transmitted. You can revoke camera access at any time in your browser settings.

Advertising

The site is free because it shows ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this and other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info. Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent through Google’s consent message before personalised ads are shown.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how many people use the site and which features they use (for example, that a scan succeeded and what type of QR code it was, such as “link” or “Wi-Fi”). We do not send the content of QR codes, UPI IDs or passwords to Google Analytics. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects data such as your approximate location, device type and pages visited.

Data stored on your device

The site stores a small flag in your browser’s local storage to remember that offline mode is ready, and a service worker caches the site’s files so it works offline. You can clear both by clearing site data in your browser.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
